By now, all of us must be aware of the ongoing divorce case between estranged couple Sunjay Kapur and Karisma Kapoor. After all the mudslinging that had taken place between the two, the Mumbai Family court, today, granted divorce to the couple. In other words, Sunjay Kapur and Karisma Kapoor are officially separated now.
Speaking about the divorce, Sunjay Kapur’s lawyer Aman Hingorani said that they had informed the Family court about the matter being resolved amicably at the Supreme Court. Post which, the court granted divorce to Sunjay Kapur and Karisma Kapoor.
While the financial and custody terms have been settled by Sunjay Kapur and Karisma Kapoor, their children Samaira and Kiaan will be under Karisma Kapoor’s care, whereas Sunjay Kapur gets access rights. Karisma Kapoor gets to stay in the flat at a posh building in Khar, Sunjay Kapur will have access to the children for two weekends a month in the city and two weeks in summer and can also take them out of the city and country as well. Karisma Kapoor will also receive a monthly interest of Rs 10 lakh for the expenses of children, from the Rs 14 crores bonds that were purchased by Sunjay Kapur for the children.
Looking back, it may be recalled that post their marriage in 2003, Sunjay Kapur and Karisma Kapoor had filed for divorce through mutual consent in 2014. After that, while Sunjay Kapur blamed Karisma Kapoor for getting married to him for his money, Karisma Kapoor, on the other hand, went ahead and filed a domestic violence case against Sunjay Kapur and his mother.
